If you have noticed a small sparkle button at the top of every Subi page and wondered what it does: that is the Subi AI button, and it opens the Subi AI Copilot panel from wherever you are in Subi. This article explains where to find the button, what happens the first time you open it, and which pages use their own ask bar instead.
Where is the Subi AI button?
On every Subi page that has a page header — for example Plans, Subscriptions, Growth, Retention, Storefront and the Settings sub-pages such as API keys, Webhooks, Export data and Migration — the Subi AI button sits in the top-right action group, to the right of the page's main button. On the Plans page it is the sparkle button immediately to the right of Create plan. On a page that has no other buttons it sits in that same spot on its own. Screen readers announce it as Ask Subi AI.
What happens when I click it?
Clicking the button opens the Subi AI panel — titled Subi AI, with Copilot underneath — on top of the page you were on, so you do not lose your place. The first time you open it, the panel shows a Before you start card that reads: "Subi AI sends your question, and the store data needed to answer it, to our AI provider. Nothing leaves your store until you accept." Click Accept and continue to start using it; until you do, nothing is sent anywhere.
After that, type your question in the message box at the bottom of the panel (it reads "Ask about subscriptions, rules, or insights…") and click Send. The panel's welcome message and suggested prompts show the kinds of questions you can ask. To put the panel away, press Esc or click the close button, labelled Close Subi AI, and you are back on the page exactly where you were.
Which pages don't have the button?
The Subi home page does not show the header button. Instead it has its own ask bar at the top of the page — "Ask about your subscribers, revenue, or strategy…" — and sending a question from there opens the same Subi AI panel. Two Settings pages, Notifications and Language, do not show the button yet either; open any other Settings page, such as API keys, to use Subi AI from Settings.
Is this the same as the Subi AI chat in the setup wizard?
Not quite. When you first install Subi, the Pick a subscription model step of the setup wizard has its own Subi AI conversation, which recommends a subscription model for your store and answers questions about the models before you build your first plan — see Setup your first subscription plan in Subi. The button described here is for everything after setup.
I don't see the button at all
The button appears once Subi has finished loading your store's settings, so give the page a moment or refresh it. If it is still not there on a page like Plans, message our support team from inside Subi and we will check your store.
