Updated yesterday

Migrating your subscriptions to Subi ensures a smooth transition for you and your customers. This guide walks you through each step of the process, including preparation, data export, and what to do once your migration is complete.

Remember, we’ll be with you every step of the way – from preparing your data to completing the migration. For further information on how Subi can enhance your business, check out our Get Started with Subi article.

Enterprise Migration Eligibility

We have a dedicated migration process for larger stores. After you submit your request, our Enterprise team will contact you if you are eligible for the Enterprise Migration process.

Step 1: Submit Your Migration Ticket

The first step is to submit a migration ticket so we can understand your current setup.

To do this, go to the Settings tab in your Subi panel, select Migration settings, click Request migration, complete the form, and submit your ticket.

You will need to provide details such as:

  • The subscription platform you’re currently using

  • The payment gateway you’re working with (e.g., Shopify Payments, Stripe)

  • The number of active subscriptions you manage

Once submitted, we will review your request within two business days to confirm eligibility.

Step 2: Pre-migration preparation

Before migration begins, prepare your store:

  1. Recreate your subscription plans: Set up all the subscription plans you currently offer in Subi. Place a test order to confirm setup.

  2. Disable your old subscription widget: Turn off the subscription widget from your previous app to avoid new customers subscribing there.

  3. Provide collaborator access: Share your Shopify collaborator code with our team so we can manage the migration.

Step 3: Prepare your subscription data

Export your subscription data from your current platform. This step might seem tricky, but we’re here to guide you through it:

  1. Export your data
Depending on which platform you're migrating from, you’ll need to follow specific instructions to export your data:

  2. Deliver your data
After validating your data, reply to our initial email with your files so we can prepare them for migration.

If you’re unsure about any part of the export process, don’t worry – we’ll help you review and finalize everything during our migration meeting.

Note: Please follow the ‘Pre-Migration Preparation’ before exporting your data to avoid acquiring new customers from your previous subscription provider during the migration process. Then, you can begin the exporting process. This way, you won’t have to worry about the exports not being up to date.

Step 4: Running the migration

Once your exports are ready and pre-migration steps are complete, our team will run the migration. This process usually takes up to two business days from the time we receive valid export files. We will keep you updated on progress.

Step 5: Final steps after migration

When your migration is complete, there are a few final steps to ensure everything is functioning smoothly on Subi:

  1. Check your subscriptions: Review your subscriptions in Subi to confirm everything transferred correctly.

  2. Cancel old subscriptions: Cancel all subscriptions in your previous app to avoid overlap or double billing.

  3. Uninstall your old app: Remove your previous subscription app to prevent conflicts with Subi. Some apps can still read other apps’ selling plans, which could interfere with your new Subi setup.

And there you have it – the entire migration process, step by step. We know that moving platforms can feel overwhelming, but rest assured, we’re here to help at every stage. If you ever have any questions or need assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out – we’re just an email away.

Welcome to Subi Subscriptions!
