How do I track when customers open and click my Subi emails?

Turn email open and click tracking on or off, and see sent, opened and clicked numbers for each customer email.

You can choose whether Subi tracks when your customers open the emails Subi sends them and click their links. When tracking is on, you can see how many emails were sent, what share were opened and what share were clicked, for each type of email.

How do I turn email open and click tracking on or off?

If your store is outside Europe and you haven't changed this setting yourself, tracking is on. Stores in the EU, the EEA, the UK and the rest of Europe, and stores with no country set, start with tracking off until you turn it on. Whatever you choose stays as you set it. To change it:

  1. In Subi, go to Settings > Notifications.

  2. Under Customer notifications, open Email. This opens the Customer email notifications page.

  3. In the Email tracking card, below Sender email, switch Opens and clicks on or off.

The change is saved as soon as you switch it. It applies to the emails Subi sends your customers from that moment on. Emails sent to you and your staff are never tracked.

Why do I see a confirmation before tracking turns on?

If your store is in the EU, the EEA or the UK, or your store has no country set, Subi asks you to confirm before tracking turns on. In these regions, tracking opens and clicks usually needs your customers' consent. Choose Turn on only if your customers have agreed. If you choose Cancel, tracking stays off. You can turn tracking off again at any time.

Where do I see how many emails were opened and clicked?

While tracking is on, the Email tracking card shows an arrow next to the switch. Select it to open the Email opens and clicks page. There you can pick a date range and see:

  • Sent: how many tracked emails Subi sent your customers in that range.

  • Opened: the share of those emails that were opened at least once.

  • Clicked: the share of those emails in which a link was clicked at least once.

The By email table shows the same numbers for each type of email, using the names from the Customer email notifications page. Emails that don't have their own name there are grouped under Other emails.

How are opens and clicks counted?

Each email counts once as opened and once as clicked, however many times the customer opens it or clicks in it. An open or a click is counted on the day the email was sent, not the day it was opened. For example, an email sent on Monday and opened on Tuesday shows as opened in a range that includes Monday. Automatic opens by email security scanners are left out. Only emails sent while tracking was on are counted.

Why does the page say "No numbers yet"?

If the Email opens and clicks page says No numbers yet, no tracked email was sent in the date range you picked. The page starts on Last 30 days, which ends yesterday. So on the day you turn tracking on, pick a range that includes today to see your first numbers.
