Learn how to add and verify your custom email domain in Subi so subscription notifications are sent from your own address.

Why add a custom sender email?

By default, Subi sends subscription notifications from a Subi-provided address. If you’d like these emails to come from your own domain (for example, [email protected]), you can set up and verify a custom sender email in your Subi settings.

Steps to add a custom domain sender email

1. Go to Notifications in Subi settings

  • In your Subi dashboard, open Settings > Notifications.

  • Under Customer notifications, click Add custom email.

2. Enter your custom email address

  • A modal will open.

  • Enter the address you’d like to use (for example, [email protected]).

  • Click Add.

3. Verify your email configuration

  • Your new email will appear in the list with an Unverified badge.

  • Click Verify configuration next to it.

4. Add CNAME records in your domain provider

  • A modal will show 3 required CNAME records with host names and values.

  • Log in to your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy, Cloudflare, etc.) and open your DNS management.

  • Create a new CNAME record for each entry:

    • Copy the Name and paste it into the record’s Name/Host field.

    • Copy the Value and paste it into the record’s Value/Target field.

  • Save your changes.

Note: Some domain providers require you to only enter the first part of the Name field.

  • For example:

    • Enter em9625 instead of em9625.yourdomain.com

    • Enter s1._domainkey instead of s1._domainkey.yourdomain.com

5. Authenticate your domain in Subi

  • Return to Subi and click Authenticate again.

  • If the DNS records are correct, your domain will be verified.

6. Use your verified custom email

  • Once verified, your email will show a Verified badge.

  • Select it as the sender for subscription notifications.

  • You can also edit, view configuration, or remove the email by clicking the three-dot menu.

Important notes

  • Verification is handled through your domain provider. While it often completes within minutes, it may take up to 48 hours.

  • If your email still shows as Unverified after 48 hours, double-check your DNS records. If issues persist, contact Subi support for assistance.
