If you want Subi to work with another tool, start here. This page lists the apps Subi already works with and links to the steps for each. If your tool is not on the list, the later sections show how to connect it yourself through Zapier or Make, or how a developer, or an AI coding agent working for you, builds it on the Subi API and webhooks.
Apps that already work with Subi
With Klaviyo, which comes with the Subi and Subi Plus plans or as an add-on on another paid plan, Subi adds your subscribers to a Klaviyo list and sends subscription events, such as a subscription starting, pausing or a payment failing, as Klaviyo metrics for your flows and segments.
With Shopify Flow, Shopify's own subscription triggers see every subscription a customer starts with Subi, so a new subscription, a change to one or a renewal payment can start a Flow workflow.
With Mailchimp for Shopify, you can reach your subscribers through Mailchimp tags and groups built on Subi's automatic tags, which come with the Subi and Subi Plus plans or with the Smart tagging & integrations add-on.
With Yotpo or LoyaltyLion, each subscriber's points balance shows on their subscription in Subi, matched by email address.
With Rebuy Smart Cart, your Subi plans show inside the Rebuy cart drawer.
With Fast Bundle, you can sell bundles as subscriptions.
With Givy, you can sell gift subscriptions.
With ReferralCandy, you can run a referral program alongside your subscriptions.
With Weglot or Translate & Adapt, your Subi subscription widget can be translated.
Connect another tool without a developer
Subi has an app on Zapier, added with an invite link: see Connect Subi to Zapier. With it, a change to a subscription can start a Zap, for example to give a customer access to your community or course tool when they subscribe and take it away when they cancel, or to keep their contact in your CRM or email tool in step with their subscription. A Zap can also cancel, pause, resume or skip a subscription, or move its next billing date.
Make has no Subi app. You can still use Make by sending Subi's webhooks to Make's Custom webhook module, as shown in Sending Subi webhooks to Zapier or Make.
Two recipes are ready to follow: subscription changes as rows in Google Sheets and a Slack alert when a renewal payment fails.
Before you build, check that your other tool has the Zapier or Make step you need, for example a step that removes a member, a tag or a list by email.
What a developer can build
The Subi API reads your subscribers and subscription contracts, and changes a contract: cancel, pause, resume, skip, reschedule, or edit its lines. Webhooks tell your system the moment a subscription is created, canceled, paused or resumed, and when a renewal payment succeeds or fails. With the two together, a developer can build, for example, a member area or a Discord role that follows a subscription, a subscription page on a headless storefront, or a sync with your own ERP, CRM or data warehouse.
Start with the Subi API guide and How to set up and manage Webhooks in Subi. For the subscription selector on a Hydrogen or other headless product page, see How do I add the Subi subscription widget to a Hydrogen or headless storefront?
To ask an AI assistant about your subscriptions in plain language instead, see Connect your AI client to Subi (MCP). It comes with the Subi Plus plan, or with the API, webhook & MCP access add-on.
Which plans include the API and webhooks
The Subi API and webhooks are included in every current paid Subi plan and in almost every older one. The Subi app on Zapier connects with an API key and Make uses webhooks, so both follow the same rule. On the Free plan, Settings > API keys and Settings > Webhooks show a lock with an Upgrade your plan button. If your store is on an older plan and still sees a lock, see What your store needs in the Subi API guide.
Build it with ChatGPT, Claude or Codex
If you or your developer build the connection with an AI coding agent, paste the points below into the agent before it writes any code, so it builds only on the calls Subi has.
The Subi API's base URL is
https://api.subi.co/public/v1.0/. Every request sends the store's API key in theX-Api-Keyheader. The key is made in Subi under Settings > API keys and stays on the server, never in storefront code. Each key can make 60 requests a minute. Past that the API answers 429.
The calls that exist:
GET subscribers/(filter byemail),GET subscribers/{customer_id}/,GET subscription-contracts/(filter bycustomer_id,status,next_billing_date__gte,updated_at__gteand more),GET subscription-contracts/{id}/,POST subscription-contracts/{id}/cancel/,pause/,resume/,skip/andreschedule/, andPATCH subscription-contracts/{id}/lines/.There is no
GETonlines/: read a contract's lines fromGET subscription-contracts/{id}/. The API does not create or delete a subscription.Lists take
limit(15 by default, 100 at most) andoffset, and returncount, nextandprevious.A contract's
statusis one ofACTIVE,PAUSED,FAILED,CANCELLED,EXPIREDorDEACTIVATED.Webhook events: Subscription Created, Subscription Canceled, Subscription Paused, Subscription Resumed, Subscription Billing Succeeded and Subscription Billing Failed. Each is a POST of JSON to an
https://address. They are registered in Subi under Settings > Webhooks, one webhook per event, and are delivered only while the page reads Active. Each webhook carries an
X-Subi-Hmac-Sha256header: the HMAC-SHA256 of the raw request body with the Webhook Signing Secret from that page, encoded as base64, not hex.The endpoint answers with a 2xx status within 10 seconds. Subi does not follow redirects, so a 301 or 302 counts as a failed delivery.
Webhooks name the customer by their Shopify customer ID (
customer_id). For their email and name, callGET subscribers/{customer_id}/.Full reference:
https://api.subi.co/public/v1.0/redoc/for the API andhttps://api.subi.co/webhooks/v1.0/redoc/for webhook payloads.
Then make this first call. It should answer 200 with one of your active subscriptions, or an empty results list if you have none yet:
curl -H "X-Api-Key: YOUR_API_KEY" "https://api.subi.co/public/v1.0/subscription-contracts/?status=ACTIVE&limit=1"
If it answers 403, check that the key is copied whole and still listed under Settings > API keys, and that your plan includes the API (see above). If you get stuck, write to us in the chat and tell us the call and the answer you got.
