Subi gives you full control to customize the Hosted Portal and the Customer Account Extension (Embedded Portal). Both portals share the same customization settings in Subi, so you only need to configure them once.
These settings allow you to deliver a branded, localized, and user-friendly subscription experience that reduces confusion and strengthens customer trust.
Where to customize the portals
All customization settings for both portals can be found in your Subi Admin:
Go to Subi Admin → Customer Portal
Select Portal Customization
Use the available tools to edit text, manage permissions, and set up Smart Cancel Flows
Changes you make here automatically apply to both the Hosted Portal and the Embedded Portal.
Customizable content and translations
You can edit and translate all the text displayed in the customer portals to match your brand voice and customer language.
This includes:
Labels and buttons – Rename default actions (e.g., “Skip Order” → “Delay Delivery”)
Instructions and messages – Adjust tone to match your brand’s style (friendly, formal, concise, etc.)
Headings and descriptions – Customize portal titles like “Manage Subscription” → “Your Plan Settings”

Custom CSS (Hosted Portal only)
For advanced branding, you can apply custom CSS to the Subi Hosted Portal. This feature allows you to:
Match fonts, colors, and layouts with your storefront
Create a unique look that aligns with your brand identity
Go beyond the default design for a fully tailored experience
⚠️ Note: Custom CSS is only available for the Hosted Portal. The Embedded Portal automatically inherits your store’s Shopify theme styling and does not support custom CSS.
Customer portal permissions
Merchants can control what customers are allowed to do inside their portal. For example, you can decide whether subscribers can:
Cancel or pause a subscription
Swap, add, or remove products
Apply discount codes

Smart Cancel Flows
