How to Use Tag Management to Enable Automated Tags for Subscribers and Orders in Subi?

Learn how to set up automated tags for your subscribers and subscription orders in Subi.

Updated this week

Overview

Subi allows you to automatically tag both your subscribers and their subscription orders. These tags can help you organize your store's products and customer data, improving your business operations and marketing efforts. This article covers how to enable automated tags, the types of tags available, and the benefits of using Subi Tag Management.

How to Enable Automated Tags in Subi?

To enable automated tags, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Subi app.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Tag Management.

Once enabled, Subi will automatically apply relevant tags to future subscribers and their new subscription orders. Existing subscribers and orders will not be updated with these tags. This functionality allows you to categorize and manage customer data and subscription orders more effectively moving forward.

What Automated Tags Are Available in Subi for Orders and Customers?

Order Tags

Subi offers three types of automated tags for subscription orders:

  • Subi Subscription: Automatically tagged for all orders generated by Subi once Tag Management is enabled.

  • First Subscription Order: This tag is added to the first order of a subscription plan.

  • Recurring Order #number: Labels each recurring order with a sequential number (e.g., Recurring Order #1, Recurring Order #2, etc.).

Customer Tags

There are five automated tags available for your subscribers:

  • Subi Subscriber: For any customer who has made at least one subscription.

  • Has Active Subscription: For customers with an active subscription.

  • Has Paused Subscription: For customers with a paused subscription.

  • Has Canceled Subscription: For customers who have canceled their subscription.

  • Payment Failure: For customers experiencing payment issues.

Note: Automated tags apply to future subscribers/members and subscription orders. Existing customers and orders will not be automatically updated. You can manually add these tags to your existing customers or use Shopify Automation.

Why Should I Use Subi Tag Management?

Subi's automated tags can enhance your business's organization, communication, and marketing strategies. Here are some key benefits:

Organize Your Inbox with Tags

Tags help filter and categorize subscription orders and customers for easier inbox management in your Shopify Admin Panel. You can save these filters for quicker access to specific views.

Email Automation with Tags

You can use Subi tags to trigger automated emails when specific tags are added to a customer’s profile. For example, set up a welcome email for new subscribers or send promotional offers to active members. Subi tags integrate with email marketing apps like Klaviyo, Shopify Email, and others to streamline your communication.

Winning Back Customers with Tags

Use tags like “Has Paused Subscription” or “Has Canceled Subscription” to target customers with special offers or discount codes, encouraging them to renew their subscriptions.

Loyalty Programs with Tags

Integrate Subi tags with your loyalty program to send notifications and rewards to customers based on their subscription activity. For instance, offer rewards when a customer reaches their 5th subscription order to foster customer retention.

Product Reviews with Tags

Automate product review requests for customers on their 3rd recurring order using tags. This helps you gather valuable feedback without manual intervention.

Create Member-Only Content with Tags and Exclusive Access

While Subi tags can be used for customer and order management, you can also combine them with Subi’s Membership Exclusive Access feature to restrict content for members only. This allows you to offer exclusive access to specific products and pages based on customer tags.
