If your store closes for a few days, for a holiday or while you restock, you can set a closure window in Subi. Renewals that would bill on your closed days move to the day you reopen, and your subscribers get an email about it. You don't have to move each order by hand.
Where do I set a closure window?
Go to Settings > Inventory policy and find the Closure window card below the inventory policy setting. Then:
Click Set a closure window.
Pick Closed from, the first day your store is closed.
Pick Reopens on, the first day you are open again. It must be after the first closed day.
Fill in What subscribers are told, for example "closed for the holidays" (up to 80 characters). It appears in the email.
Keep Email subscribers whose order moves ticked to send the email, or untick it to move orders without one.
Click Save. A confirmation shows how many orders will move, the reopening date and how many subscribers will get an email. Click Confirm to apply it.
Once it is set, the card shows your dates, how many orders moved and how many subscribers were emailed.
Which orders move, and to which day?
When you confirm, every active subscription whose next order falls on a closed day moves to your reopening day, at the same time of day. The reopening day itself is not a closed day.
Example: you set Closed from October 12 and Reopens on October 19. An order due on October 14 moves to October 19. An order due on October 19 or later stays where it is.
Orders after the moved one follow on from the new date. A monthly subscription moved from October 14 to October 19 next renews on November 19.
A subscription that delivers only on a fixed day (for example every Friday) moves to its first delivery day on or after your reopening day.
What stays where it is?
Paused and cancelled subscriptions don't move.
A date a subscriber picks, or a date you set by hand, stays where it was put, even inside your closed days.
For a prepaid subscription, only the next charge moves. Deliveries that are already paid for still go out on their own dates, and the confirmation tells you how many there are.
What about renewals that land on a closed day later?
While the window is running, an order that comes to fall on a closed day later on (after a renewal, a skip or a resume, for example) is moved to the reopening day within the hour.
What do my subscribers see?
Each subscriber whose order moves gets one email: "Your next order moves to" the new date, with your reason, the old and new date and the products in the order. If rescheduling is turned on in your customer portal, the email also has a Choose a different date button so they can pick another day.
In the customer portal, a moved subscription shows a Moved from badge with the old date. If rescheduling is on, its card also shows a Reschedule button.
Can I change or end a closure window?
Edit dates: if you reopen later, orders the new dates cover move to the new reopening day, including orders already moved to the old one. If you reopen earlier, nothing moves back.
End window now: moved orders keep their new dates, and renewals are no longer moved from then on.
