When you ask Subio how your subscriptions are doing, it can end its answer by pointing out one of your subscription plans that sells at no discount, and it can prepare a 10% discount on that plan for you to approve. Nothing changes unless you approve it.
When does Subio suggest a plan discount?
Subio only suggests a discount when you ask about your store's subscriptions, revenue, subscribers, churn or growth — for example, "How are my subscriptions doing?". It answers your question first. Then, if one of your Subscribe & save plans sells at no discount, it adds one line at the end of the answer. That line names the plan and says how many of your plans sell at no discount. Below it, Subio shows an approval card with the suggested change.
Subio suggests at most one change per conversation. If you start a new conversation, it may suggest one again.
What does the approval card show?
The card tells you exactly what will change before you decide:
Plan: the name of the plan that would change.
Sells at today: what the plan sells at now, which is "No discount".
Would sell at: "10% off every order". The discount applies to every order of the plan, not only the first one.
Who this reaches: new subscribers only.
What happens when I approve the discount?
If you click Approve & execute, Subi adds a 10% discount on every order to that one plan. The plan's name, delivery frequency and billing settings stay exactly as they were, and no other plan changes.
The new price applies to new subscribers. Customers who already subscribe to that plan keep their current price. The only exception is when a customer later swaps a product in their subscription or changes how often it is delivered — then their subscription can pick up the plan's current discounted price.
You can check or change the discount at any time from the plan's page under Plans, like any other discount you set yourself.
What happens if I don't approve it?
Nothing changes. Subio never applies a change on its own — every change waits for you to approve it.
If the plan changes before you approve the card — for example, you edit it or add your own discount — approving the card will not apply the old suggestion. Subi tells you that nothing was changed. Ask Subio again if you want a fresh suggestion.
Which plans can Subio suggest a discount on?
Subio only suggests a discount on a published Subscribe & save plan that currently sells at no discount. It never suggests a discount on these plans:
Build a box, Fixed bundle, Mystery box, Volume discount or Membership plans. Their discounts are set in their own settings, so Subio leaves them alone.
Prepaid plans.
Plans that are still drafts.
Subio also only suggests a change your Subi plan allows you to make. If your plan doesn't allow a plan edit, Subio just answers your question and suggests nothing.
Why a 10% discount?
Most subscription stores discount between 5% and 15%, so 10% sits in the middle of that range. Subio does not promise that a discount will increase your revenue or keep subscribers longer. It points out a change you haven't made, and the decision is yours.
Will Subio ever cancel, pause or skip a subscription as a suggestion?
No. Subio never suggests cancelling, pausing or skipping anything. The only change it suggests on its own is a discount on a plan, and only after answering your question.
