The Subscribers tab lives inside Analytics in your Subi admin, in the tab bar next to Overview, Revenue, Contracts and Upcoming (and Reports, when reports are enabled for your store). Where Contracts counts subscription contracts, Subscribers counts the customers behind them — how many you are gaining and losing, how well you keep them, and which plans they are on. This article walks through each card on the tab.
The controls at the top
The Subscribers tab uses the same three controls as the Overview tab, and they apply to every card at once: the date-range button (defaulting to Last 30 days), the Compare to button, and Group by with Daily, Weekly, Monthly or Quarterly buckets. Hover over any card's title to read how that metric is defined.
What's on this tab
Subscriber Growth — a line chart with two lines, New Subscribers and Churned Subscribers. The headline is your number of active subscribers on the last day of the selected range: unique customers who hold at least one active contract on that day.
New vs Churned Subscribers — the same two figures as bars, side by side. A new subscriber is a customer who started their first-ever contract in the range and still holds an active contract at its end; a churned subscriber held an active contract on the first day of the range and none on its last day.
Subscriber Retention Rate — the share of the contracts active at the start of each period that were still active at its end. The headline is the rate for the latest period in the range, not an average of the whole range.
Subscribers by Plan — one line per plan, listed by product name, showing its active contract count over time, with a dropdown to show All plans or a single one. The chart draws your ten largest plans by active contracts. The headline counts how many plans are drawn, for example "5 plans", not subscribers.
Active Subscribers — your active subscriber count over time, as bars.
Average Subscriber Value — the average monthly recurring revenue per active subscriber on the last day of the selected range, in your store's currency.
Subscribers by plan table — your top five plans by active contracts, with the columns Plan Name, Billing Cycle, Active and MRR. Billing Cycle reads Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly or Every N days/weeks/months/years, and states the interval most of that plan's new contracts in the range were signed on; a dash means no new contract in the range told us the interval. When reports are enabled for your store, a See all link under the table opens the full report.
Why retention and the per-plan numbers can differ from your subscriber count
Subscriber Retention Rate, Subscribers by Plan and the Subscribers by plan table are counted per contract, not per customer, because that is the only data source Subi has for them. A customer holding two subscriptions counts twice there, so a plan's Active column can be higher than the number of distinct customers on it. The Subscriber Growth, New vs Churned Subscribers, Active Subscribers and Average Subscriber Value cards count unique customers.
Why some cards show a percentage change and others don't
When a comparison is on, the four customer-count cards show the change against the comparison period next to their headline. Subscriber Retention Rate and Subscribers by Plan do not show a change: their data source does not support period comparison, so Subi leaves the figure out rather than estimate it.
Charts from the original design that aren't here
The design for this tab included a "Subscriber Lifetime (months)" chart and an "Active vs Inactive Subscribers" chart. There is no lifetime figure and no inactive-subscriber count in Subi's analytics data yet, so the first was left out and the second shipped as Active Subscribers only, rather than showing a number that could not be backed by real data.
When a card shows no data or an error
A card with nothing to show for the selected range reads No data available for selected period with the hint Try selecting a different date range. Subscriber Retention Rate is the exception: a 0% rate is a real answer (every contract churned) and is plotted as zero. If one card fails to load, only that card shows an error with a retry action and the message Your store data is unaffected. Try again in a moment.; the rest of the tab keeps rendering.
Which plan this is on
The Subscribers tab is available wherever Analytics is available for your store — it isn't gated behind a separate plan or add-on.
