Overview

Sometimes you may want to stop displaying a product on your storefront, but still allow certain customers to buy it—for example, for exclusive promotions or limited-access offers. This article explains how you can hide a product from your website’s navigation and collections, while still making it available for purchase through a direct checkout link. You’ll learn exactly which steps to take so the product no longer appears in menus, but remains accessible for anyone you share the link with.

If you want to remove a product from your online store but still allow customers to purchase it, you’ll need to hide the product from your navigation and collections without deactivating it. This way, the product won’t appear in standard store menus, but customers can still buy it if you provide them with a direct purchase link.

Steps to Hide the Product from Navigation and Collections:

  1. Remove the Product from Categories and Collections

To hide a product from your website’s categories or collections:

    • Go to your Shopify Admin dashboard.

    • Navigate to Products > Collections.

    • Find each collection that contains the product you want to hide.

    • Remove the product from those collections.
This will prevent the product from appearing in collection pages or navigation menus that lead to it.

  2. Update Navigation Menus

Next, ensure there are no menu links pointing to the product:

    • In your Shopify Admin, go to Content > Menu.

    • Review your Main Menu and any other navigation menus for links that lead to collections or categories containing the product.

    • Remove any links to collections that include the product you wish to hide.

    • Double-check that the updated menus display only your desired products and collections.

  3. Confirm the Product is Still Available for Purchase

Even though the product is no longer visible through site navigation, you can still keep it available for direct purchase:

    • Make sure the product’s status is set to Active in your Shopify Admin.

    • This ensures that the product page can be accessed by anyone with a direct link, even if it isn’t shown in menus.

  4. Generate and Share a Quick Checkout Link in Subi

If you want specific customers to access and purchase the hidden product, you can generate a direct checkout link in the Subi app:

    • Go to the Subi app.

    • Click on Settings.

    • Select Quick Checkout Link.

    • Click on Select Product and choose the product you want to sell with the checkout link.

    • Choose the purchase option you want to offer (such as subscription, one-time purchase, or other available plans).

    • Click Generate to create the direct checkout link.

    • Share this link directly with customers via email, chat, or other channels.
Customers who use this link will be able to purchase the product, even though it does not appear in your online store’s navigation.

Tip:
After each edit to the product or purchase options, make sure to regenerate the checkout link. The updated link will be created once you click Generate.
