How to Access Widget Settings
Go to your Shopify Admin
Click Subi Subscriptions
Open the Storefront tab
On the Subscribe & Save card, click Customize widgets
You can now manage all widget settings.
How the Editor Shows Your Widget
Why does the widget editor open on a phone-sized preview?
Most of your customers shop on their phones, so the widget editor opens with your widget shown on a phone-sized product page. This applies to the Subscribe & save widget, the Membership widget and the Volume discount widget.
To see the widget on a desktop-sized product page instead, click the phone button at the top right of the editor. Click it again to go back to the phone preview. The editor opens on the phone preview again the next time you open it.
The full-width widgets (Build a box, Fixed bundle, Included products and the Access denied page) always open on the desktop-sized preview and have no phone button.
In the phone preview, the subscription details open when you hover over them, as they do on a computer. On a real phone your customers tap to open them.
How do I know which part of the widget a setting changes?
A blue box in the preview marks the part of the widget you are editing, with the setting's name on a blue tab above it. When the editor opens, the box surrounds the whole widget. When you click a setting in the Design tab, such as Purchase option default or Description, the box moves to the part of the widget that setting changes.
Settings that change the whole widget, such as Appearance, Widget position and Custom CSS, keep the box around the whole widget. On the Subscribe & save widget the box marks individual parts; on the other widget types it marks the whole widget.
Can I undo a change in the widget editor?
Yes. The undo and redo arrows at the top right of the editor, next to the phone button, step back and forward through the changes you made since you opened the editor, in every tab. Typing in a field counts as one change. Undo back to your saved settings and the Save bar disappears.
The arrows are dimmed when there is nothing to undo or redo. Switching to another widget type starts a fresh history.
1. Choose Your Widget Style
You have four widget styles to choose from for the Subscribe & Save subscription. Select your preferred style, then click on Live Widget to see how it appears on your product page.
Note: To preview the Live Widget, you must first create a Subscribe & Save plan.
2. Purchase Options (Subscribe & One-Time Purchase)
You can control how purchase options appear inside the widget.
Default Selected Option
Choose which option is automatically selected when customers land on the product page:
Subscribe & Save
One-time Purchase
The selected option will be pre-selected for every shopper.
Display Order
You can also control which option appears first:
Show Subscribe & Save first
Show One-time Purchase first
This allows you to prioritize subscription sales if desired.
3. Subscription Details Section
You can customize how subscription information appears inside the widget.
Description Display Options
Choose how descriptions are shown:
Standard description
Tooltip (hidden by default)
Tooltips are useful if you prefer a cleaner layout while still providing additional information when customers hover or click.
4. Product Price Visibility Control
You can control whether the main product price is displayed and dynamically synced with the selected purchase option.
Default Behavior
The main product price is shown by default: the Show product price setting is on unless you turn it off.
While it is on, the widget's price replaces your theme's product price display.
To keep your theme's own price instead, turn off Show product price in the widget settings and save.
The price updates automatically depending on whether the customer selects:
Subscribe & Save
One-time Purchase
💸 Pricing Display States
The product price changes based on the selected option.
When “Subscribe” Is Selected
Show the discounted subscription price prominently
Show the original price crossed out
Display a discount badge (e.g., “Save 10%”)
Reflect the selected selling plan price
Example:
$20.70 $23.00
Badge: Save 10%
When “One-time Purchase” Is Selected
Show the one-time purchase price prominently
Show the original price crossed out
Do not display a discount badge
The price reflects the one-time purchase amount.
How do I show customers how much money a subscription saves?
Your subscription widget can show the saving in money next to the percent, so customers see what they save on every delivery. For example, on a $67.00 product with a 20% subscription discount, the plan reads Save $13.40 (20%) instead of Save 20%. The setting is Show saving as an amount, right under Show product price in the widget customization settings, and it is on by default.
To show the percent only, like Save 20%, turn off Show saving as an amount and save. The widget preview follows the switch.
Only percentage discounts show an amount. Plans with a fixed amount off or a fixed price keep their current text.
If you changed the word "Save" in your widget content, the widget keeps your word and adds the amount after it.
The "up to" saving, which compares all of a product's plans, stays a percent.
Next to the subscription price, the widget shows the one-time price crossed out, like $67.00 $53.60. The crossed-out price stays when the switch is off, and it is not shown when a plan saves nothing.
A plan whose discount changes after a number of orders shows what the first payment costs and what later payments cost, instead of an amount saved.
5. Remove Subi Branding from Your Widget
If you'd like to remove Subi branding "Powered by Subi" from your widget, you can do so easily. From the widget customization page, navigate to the Footer section in the left menu, and simply disable the Subi Branding option.
6. Use CSS to Further Personalize Your Widget
For advanced users, you can apply your own CSS to the widget for additional customization. To do this, go to the Advanced section of the widget customization page and input your CSS code.
Customize the Content of Your Widget
Once you’ve selected your widget style, you can tailor the content to fit your store’s theme. Click Customize to open the customization page, where you can edit various fields. As you make changes, the live preview on the right will update, allowing you to see how the widget looks in real-time.

Add Your Subscription Widget to Your Home Page or Other Landing Pages
You can also place the subscription widget on your homepage or any other landing pages. This allows customers to subscribe to your products directly from these pages.
To enable the widget on the home page and other sections of your store, go to the Storefront tab. In the Subscription widgets card, click Configure widget and enable the "Display subscription widget on home page and other pages" option.
Make Your Subscription Widget Multilingual
How do I translate my subscription widget? Subi translates your widget into the languages your store publishes in Shopify, and every widget translation lives in Settings → Languages in your Subi admin, together with your customer portal and selling plan names.
Open Settings in your Subi admin and choose Languages.
If the Store languages card shows Turn on translation, click it. Translation for your widget, customer portal and plan names starts at once and takes about 10 minutes.
Click Translate next to a language and choose Widget.
Edit any line in the language's column, next to the English Reference text, and save.
You can also start from the widget customization page: the globe tab in the left sidebar lists your languages. Click a language to open its Widget tab, or click Open Languages. For Auto-translate, Reset to auto and the other options on that page, see Translate your customer portal into your store's languages.
Prefer a translation app such as Weglot or Translate & Adapt? Follow Translate Subscription Widget with Translation Apps instead.
