The Subi Loyalty tile in Shopify POS lets you see a customer's loyalty points, redeem rewards into coupons, and apply those coupons to the in-store sale — all without leaving the POS terminal. This is the same loyalty program you set up in the Subi admin; Shopify POS just gives you a quick way to use it during in-person transactions.
Before you start
Before the Subi Loyalty tile works, make sure:
You've set up a loyalty program in the Subi admin. If you haven't, see Set Up a Loyalty Program.
POS loyalty is enabled for your account. If you don't see loyalty information when you tap the tile, contact Subi support to enable this feature.
The Subi app is installed on the Shopify POS device you're using.
Adding the Subi Loyalty tile to your POS
The Subi Loyalty tile shows up on the POS Smart Grid alongside Shopify's built-in tiles. If you don't see it on your Smart Grid yet, tap Edit Smart Grid, choose Add tile, and select Subi Loyalty from the list of available app tiles.
The tile shows the currently selected customer's points balance. When no customer is selected, it shows "Select a customer" instead.
Viewing a customer's loyalty details
Add a customer to the current sale in Shopify POS (tap Add customer at the top of the cart).
Tap the Subi Loyalty tile on the Smart Grid.
The loyalty modal opens, showing the customer's current points balance, the rewards they can redeem, and any coupons they've already earned.
If you tap the tile without a customer in the cart, you'll see the message "Select a customer in Shopify POS first". Add a customer and tap the tile again.
Redeeming a reward
The Rewards tab lists every reward you've configured in your loyalty program, with the points cost shown on each row.
If the customer has enough points, the button shows Redeem for X pts in blue.
If they don't have enough points, the button shows Need X pts and is greyed out.
Tap Redeem for X pts to subtract the required points from the customer's balance and turn the reward into a coupon code. The new coupon then appears in the Coupons tab.
To apply a coupon to the in-store sale, switch to the Coupons tab and tap Add to cart next to the coupon you want to use. The discount is applied to the cart immediately, and the coupon stays available until the order is completed.
Each coupon row shows the discount type (for example, "30% OFF Coupon" or "Free Shipping"), the coupon code, and any minimum-order requirement.
Editing a customer's points
If you need to manually add or subtract points — for example, to thank a customer for an in-store gesture or to correct a balance — tap Edit Points at the top of the loyalty modal.
Enter the customer's new total points balance (not the amount to add or subtract) and tap Save. The change takes effect immediately, and the customer's tile and modal balance update right away.
Tap Cancel to close the editor without making any changes.
Frequently asked questions
Does the customer earn points for the in-store sale I'm about to make?
Yes — points are awarded automatically when the order is created in Shopify, the same way they are for online orders. You don't need to do anything extra in POS.
Can I redeem a reward and apply the coupon in the same transaction?
Yes. Redeem the reward in the Rewards tab, switch to the Coupons tab, and tap Add to cart on the newly created coupon before completing the sale.
Why don't I see the Subi Loyalty tile on POS?
The tile is added per device. On each POS device, tap Edit Smart Grid, then Add tile, and choose Subi Loyalty.
Why do I get an error saying loyalty isn't enabled when I tap the tile?
POS loyalty access is set at the account level. If you see the message "POS loyalty is not enabled for your account. Contact Subi support to enable this feature.", reach out to Subi support and we'll enable it for you.
