Create a Subscription Box (Fixed Bundle) Plan in Subi

Learn how to create customized boxes (groups of products sold together) and offer subscription plans to boost recurring revenue.

Updated over a week ago

A Subscription Box allows you to group multiple products into a single, recurring offer, perfect for curated kits, starter packs, and replenishment programs. This guide will walk you through setting up a Fixed Bundle plan in Subi.

Why Use a Subscription Box (Fixed Bundle)?

Subscription bundles help:

  • Increase Average Order Value

  • Promote complementary products together

  • Drive customer retention through recurring delivery

You can offer bundles with:

  • Percentage Discount (e.g., 20% off)

  • Fixed Discount (e.g., $10 off)

  • No Discount (full-price bundle)

You can also display the box (Fixed Bundle) as a widget directly on related product pages, maximizing visibility and conversion.

Where Does the Box (Fixed Bundle) Widget Appear?

By default, the widget appears on:

  • Product pages of the items included in the box(bundle)

It will not appear on unrelated product pages unless you manually embed it via the Shopify theme editor.

🔧 You can control widget visibility via Shopify’s customization tools if you want to override the default behavior.

How to Create a Box (Fixed Bundle) in Subi

Follow these steps to set up your Subscription Box(Fixed Bundle):

1. Choose Your Subscription Type

  1. Go to your Subi Subscription Plans dashboard

  2. Click Create Plan

  3. Select Box

This combines multiple products into one plan and creates a separate Shopify product for the box(Fixed Bundle).

2. Enter the Box (Fixed Bundle) Name

Under Box(Fixed Bundle) as a Product:

  • Enter a name for your bundle (e.g., “Skincare Essentials”)

  • This name appears in your storefront and inside the widget

🖊 You can edit the bundle’s product description, images, and details in Shopify later.

3. Add Products to the Box(Fixed Bundle)

Under Included Products:

  • Click Browse to search and select items

  • Set quantities for each product

  • Choose available variants (e.g., size, scent, color)

You can also control delivery logic for each product:

Delivery Setting

Behavior

All Billings (Default)

Sent & charged with every subscription

First Billing Only

Sent & charged only on the first order

This lets you only add trial or starter items to the first billing.

4. Set Up Your Selling Plans

In the Selling Plans section:

  • Choose billing intervals: weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, etc.

  • Optionally enable One-Time Purchase (great for gifts)

  • Add plan-specific discounts (e.g., 10% for subscriptions only)

Tip: You can offer separate discounts for one-time vs recurring orders.

Final Step: Save & Activate

Once everything looks good:

  • Click Save

  • Toggle the plan to Active to publish the box(Fixed Bundle) to your Shopify store

⚠️ Don’t delete or unpublish the generated box(Fixed Bundle) product, it powers the subscription logic.

If you deactivate the subscription box later:

  • All unsaved changes will be lost

  • A draft product will remain in your Shopify store for future use or reactivation

💡 This makes it easy to pause a bundle without losing your entire configuration.
