Updated over a week ago

Overview

The Export Builder in Subi allows you to export critical subscription, customer, order, and billing data. This feature makes it easy to analyze your data outside the platform for reporting or operational purposes. Follow the steps below to learn how to use the Export Builder.

Accessing the Export Builder

  1. Go to your Subi panel.

  2. In the left-hand navigation menu, click on Settings, then select Data export.

You’ll be directed to the Export Builder interface, where you can choose the type of data you want to export.

Selecting the Data to Export

The Export Builder allows you to export the following data types:

  • Subscription contracts (.csv): Includes active, canceled, expired, paused subscriptions, or a changes log.

  • Customers (.csv): Exports customer information such as contact details.

  • Orders (.csv): Exports order details linked to subscriptions.

  • Billing attempts (.csv): Includes all billing attempts (processed, failed, or retried).

Step-by-Step Guide to Exporting Data

1. Choose the Data Type

  • Under the section labeled Which data are you looking for?, select the data type you want to export.

    • For example, to export subscription contracts, select Subscription contracts (.csv) and then choose from the available filters (e.g., All, Active, Canceled).

2. Set the Date Range

  • Use the Date range section to specify the time period for your export.

    • By default, last 30 days data is pre-selected.

    • To adjust the date range, click on Change date range, then specify your desired start and end dates.

  • If you need to export all historical data, check the box labeled Export entire data history.

3. Export the Data

  • Once you’ve selected the data type and date range, click on the Export button.

  • The system will generate a .csv file and automatically download it.

Tips for Using the Export Builder

  • Filter by Data Type: Use filters such as subscription status or billing attempt type to narrow down your exports and avoid unnecessary data.

  • Large Exports: For large data sets, ensure you use a specific date range to prevent long loading times.

  • File Format: All exports are in .csv format, which can be opened in spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
