With the Subscribe and Save option, you can offer products on a subscription basis at a discounted rate compared to the one-time purchase price.
Examples:
Save 20% on monthly deliveries of premium coffee beans.
Receive skincare products with a 15% discount when you subscribe.
Enjoy 10% off on monthly pet food shipments.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through how to set up the Subscribe and Save option using an example of coffee with a 20% discount for subscribers.
Step 1: Create Your Product in Shopify
First, create the product that you want to offer as both a one-time purchase and a subscription.
Go to your Shopify dashboard and create a new product.
Name it something like “Premium Coffee Beans – 500g”.
Add product details such as a description, images, and price.
Step 2: Set Up Subscription Plans in Subify
In your Subify dashboard, navigate to the Subscription Plans section. This is where you will create and manage all your subscription plans.
Select the product you created in Shopify (e.g., Premium Coffee Beans – 500g).
Make sure that the one-time purchase option is still available alongside the subscription plan.
Step 3: Create Your Selling Plan
Click on Add selling plan to create the subscription plan. Here’s how to set it up:
Set the subscription frequency (e.g., monthly).
Add a 20% discount for the subscription, so customers will pay $16 for the product if they subscribe.
Step 4: Finalize and View the Result on Your Shop
Once the subscription plan is configured, you’re ready to launch your Subscribe and Save product. Here’s what to do:
Review the subscription widget on the product page to ensure it displays both the one-time purchase price and the discounted subscription option.
Test the purchase flow by adding the product to the cart, both as a one-time purchase and as a subscription, to ensure everything works smoothly.
Customization
After the Subscribe & Save plan is live, you can fully customize the widget to match your store’s branding and enhance the customer experience.
Go to the Widgets tab in Subify.
Customize the widget layout, color schemes, and labels to align with your store’s design.
